Sylvia Yu
Cat lover, traveler + foodie
Educated as an Interior Architect in Shanghai, Sylvia received a BA degree in Art and Design from Fudan University, Shanghai, China. Her next adventure took her to the States, for a Master’s degree in Interior Architecture with an emphasis in adaptive reuse at Rhode Island School of Design.
As an experienced designer, she has done projects in the workplace arena for 6 years, focusing on corporate workplace strategy, concept development, interior design, space planning and construction. Working with top-rated firms on projects of various scales familiarized her with all design phases. Through her experience, she has developed a practical view about design. By mixing different media and materials, she designs spaces and creates comfortable environments for her clients. Sylvia feels that being a designer means being versatile in finding solutions, thinking outside of the box, crossing the boundaries between the different disciplines, and facing new challenges.
Curious about the world, nothing inspires Sylvia more than travel and photography. She enjoys exploring, experiencing different cultures, meeting new friends and like-minded people, all while documenting life’s beautiful moments. Her journeys open her heart and mind to the colorful world, which becomes the source of her creations and inspiration.
