HP, Inc. | Poly
The Social Office
Poly's deep ties to the Santa Cruz community inspired the design for their new Scotts Valley project, dubbed Changing Tides. The concept pays tribute to the Santa Cruz coastline, merging the natural beauty of land and sea. The design also features a ‘social office’ to foster connection and collaboration.
The site boasts breathtaking views of the Santa Cruz Mountains and access to lush gardens and redwoods. The top floor workspace features serene, coastal-inspired finishes and flowing designs, like a curved coffee bar and a felt bathygraphic map wall, mirroring the Changing Tides concept of the dynamic yet steady sea.
The design also nods to Poly’s history. Apollo 11 astronauts wore Poly’s ‘Snoopy’ headset, linking to the moon’s influence on ocean tides. This connection is highlighted in the lab’s entry with a moon-inspired ceiling. The rest of the space embodies HP-Poly’s drive for future innovation while honoring its legacy.
