The Tipsy Traveler: By AP+I Design + BCCI

AP+I Design’s Elegant Transformation at Chairity 2024

At AP+I Design, we’re thrilled to have participated in Chairity 2024, the annual fundraiser hosted by Two Furnish that invites designers to breathe new life into forgotten furniture. The event combines creativity and community impact, as each transformed piece is auctioned to benefit local nonprofits. This year, we joined forces with BCCI Construction to reimagine an old entertainment cabinet into a unique, luxurious bar cart we named The Tipsy Traveler.

Inspired by the classic 19th-century “lawyer’s coffin” table, The Tipsy Traveler is more than just a bar cart—it’s a statement piece. The cart features a deep, elegant green finish paired with brass accents, echoing timeless sophistication. The dark green paint exudes richness and depth, while the gold details add a touch of refinement, capturing both function and elegance. The chessboard top opens with a discreet touch-latch system, revealing an illuminated interior stocked with bar essentials. Finished with white oak and carefully selected brass, this cart brings a unique blend of style and practicality.

Why Chairity Matters to AP+I Design

Chairity perfectly aligns with our mission to create designs that serve a purpose beyond beauty. Transforming “forgotten” furniture reflects our approach to sustainable, thoughtful design, and lets us support causes that strengthen our community. Chairity 2024’s auction benefitted four amazing organizations: Girls Garage, Muttville, Hamilton Families, and Project Color Corps—each dedicated to empowering youth, rescuing animals, and supporting families in need.

Thanks to generous bidders, our team raised over $3,000 for these nonprofits, with The Tipsy Traveler itself raising $525! We’re grateful to be part of this creative movement and proud of the funds we helped generate for these vital causes. We’re already excited for Chairity 2025 and can’t wait to bring another design to life that combines innovation, artistry, and community impact.
