444 Castro

Revitalizing an Icon

The Swig Company approached us to revitalize the Mountain View landmark, formerly Mountain Bay Plaza, which has stood as the tallest building in the area since 1970.

Our task was to enhance the building’s street presence, update amenities, and modernize tenant suites while preserving the iconic façade. The project also included rebranding the building as 444 Castro to better reflect its prime location.

We revamped the plaza-level storefronts and improved outdoor spaces to make them more functional and inviting, addressing severe water and structural issues in the courtyard. The new design features a pergola with bar and dining tables, providing tenants with versatile spaces for dining, working, and meetings.
